Ranking Member Lofgren Congratulates National Medal of Science and National Medal of Innovation and Technology Laureates

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, President Biden awarded the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation to Americans who have made an outstanding impact in their respective fields. Both medals are the nation’s highest honor in science and technological achievement. The Laureates are listed below.

“Congratulations to the Laureates on this tremendous and well-deserved honor,” said Ranking Member Lofgren. “As a California Representative, I’m proud to see several of the Laureates are fellow Californians. From cutting edge wheelchair technologies to resilient critical crops to transformational 3D printing, we have these Laureates to thank for so many groundbreaking achievements across our scientific endeavors. Science has the unique power of bringing people together to solve problems and improve lives—these Laureates are perfect examples of that power. As the lead Democrat of the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, I thank all the Laureates and their teams for their work in their fields and wish them the best as they continue in their careers.”
